1 mastallone stream <\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The stream, which flows through the valley, over the centuries carved deep gorges that offers beautiful views, such as the Gula Gorge<\/mark><\/strong>. The landscape along the stream, wild and unpolluted, is formed by steep rock walls and lush vegetation that in some places gives way to fine sandy beaches<\/mark><\/strong> with clear waters and emerald shades.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The bridge<\/a><\/strong>, that crosses the gorge about thirty meters above the clear waters of Mastallone<\/strong>, was built in medieval times and, like many other places in the valley, is the protagonist of numerous legends<\/strong>. One of the most famous tells that the devil built the bridge in exchange for the soul of the first person who would cross it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

3 rimella<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Established in the 13th<\/sup> century, Rimella<\/a><\/strong> is one of the oldest Walser colonies<\/mark><\/strong> in Valsesia along with Alagna. The village comprises numerous hamlets arranged in terraces along the mountain’s slopes and preserved many traces of Walser culture <\/a><\/strong>in its architecture. The village is the starting point of several interesting itineraries that allow visitors to discover the Alta Valsesia Nature Park<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Favorite holiday destination of the Piedmont and Lombardy bourgeoisie during the 19th<\/sup> century. Cervatto<\/a><\/strong> is an enchanting village surrounded by forests and steep cliffs that create, especially in winter, a fairy-tale landscape. In the village there are some lovely noble villas:<\/strong> the best known is the one that overlooks the whole village, better known as the Castle.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

5 fobello<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Known as Vicenzo Lancia<\/strong>‘s birthplace, founder of the car manufacturer by the same name, Fobello<\/a><\/mark><\/strong> is a picturesque village located in the Alta Valsesia Nature Park<\/a><\/strong>. In the village you can admire some wonderful noble villas and visit some interesting museums like Vincenzo Lancia <\/a>and Puncetto Valsesiano permanent exhibitions.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Through a pleasant excursion, that starts in Fobello, is possible to reach one of the most scenic places of the entire Mastallone Valley<\/strong>, Lake Baranca. In addition to the lake and the beautiful landscape surrounding it, the ruins of Villa Aprilia, <\/strong>purchased by the Lancia family and destroyed during the Second World War, are really fascinating.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

BY CAR<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Varallo: <\/strong>take SP9 towards Fobello. To get to Rimella turn right at the junction with SP80<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Milano and Torino: <\/strong>from the A4 take the A26 junction at Biandrate, direction Gravellona Toce, and exit at Romagnano S.- Ghemme. From the motorway exit, take the SP299 \u201cStrada della Valsesia\u201d in the direction of Varallo-Alagna. From Varallo take SP9 towards Fobello. To get to Rimella turn right at the junction with SP80<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daily bus services connect Varallo to Rimella, Cervatto and Fobello.  How to get to Valsesia<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NAVETTA FLEXIBUS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u2018FLEXIBUS\u2019<\/a><\/strong> shuttle service connects Varallo<\/strong> to various towns  in Val Mastallone<\/strong>. The service is by reservation only<\/em> and varies depending on the time of year (summer and winter schedules apply).<\/mark><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
