The project
The collaboration with Simona, known on social media as “Fringe in Travel” and boasting nearly almost 100k followers, was established with the aim of offering outdoor enthusiast, who are not yet familiar with Valsesia, a selection of itineraries to help them pla their next mountain adventure.
The itinerary
In particular, with Simona, we walked along the historical mountain trails, paths with an important cultural and popular identity for the territory.
It was created an itinerary to promote the historical mountain trails, in particular Strada per il Colle del Turlo and Strada della Val d’Otro.

The path to colle del turlo
From Alagna (Acqua Bianca), follow Trail 207a up the old mule track leading to Colle del Turlo (2,738 m).
The trail leading up to Colle del Turlo was once a particularly important thoroughfare, both for trade and for migration: in the 14th century, Walser settlers from Macugnaga passed through here, founding the first settlements in the Alagna area. It is, in fact, a historic military road that was converted into a mule track in the 1930s by the Alpini.

Immancabile tappa se si viene in Valsesia è la visita alla stupenda e magica Val d’Otro: uno scenario unico nel suo genere si aprirà davanti ai vostri occhi giunti all’arrivo di questo itinerario, dove antiche frazioni Walser e meravigliose montagne vi accompagneranno in questo trekking davvero speciale!
Partendo dal paese di Alagna si segue il sentiero n. 203, sali fino ai caratteristici villaggi Walser nell’altopiano di Otro. Brevi sentieri si dipartono dalla mulattiera collegando i villaggi di Follu, Felleretsch, Ciucche, Dorf, Scarpia e Weng.
