Hydrospeed in valsesia
Hydrospeed is the right sport for those who want to discover and experience the wilder side of the river. Leaning on a floating ‘bob’ that you manoeuvre with the weight of your body and the help of diving fins, you can descend the course of the river, letting yourself be carried along by the current.
This discipline is practised by choosing spots where the clear waters of the Sesia river offer foaming rapids to be tackled safely. All you have to do is follow the water lines of the river and the instructions of the guide, who will explain the basic manoeuvres for the descent, to experience your great hydrospeed adventure.
Hydrospeed has been practised for several years now and, as with several other river disciplines, it is ideal for discovering wonderful and hidden corners of Valsesia, places to be experienced in close contact with the wildest nature of the river.
DIFFERENT DIFFICULTY LEVELS
There are several hydrospeed routes along the river, depending on both the river flow and increasing difficulty levels:
- Classic Hydrospeed: a descent along a stretch of the River Sesia, usually from Balmuccia to Vocca or from Vocca to Varallo, which is very popular with rafting enthusiasts;
- Hydrospeed in the Sesia gullies, an alternation of waterfalls and small lakes between spectacular rock walls, on a medium difficulty route;
- Hydrospeed Expert, technical routes suitable for all those who already have considerable hydrospeed experience, and only to be undertaken with adequate river flow.
River sports centres provide all the necessary technical equipment (i.e., wetsuit, water jacket, footwear, life jacket and helmet) to ensure the appropriate safety measures and thermal protection in all weather conditions.
