rive

The Street Art Village – with its wonderful murals, Rive tells the story of an area.

RIVE TOWN

The town’s name derives from the Latin “ripae,” a stretch of land bathed by rivers or streams. The Marcova stream flows through Rive, a small village in the Vercelli area surrounded by rice fields.

The first records of Rive date back to 1268, when the Tizzoni family held the important local stronghold.

THE street art village

Since 2020, the Municipality of Rive has promoted the creation of visual street art on the facades of homes in the town center through the “DeRive – Public Art in Rural Space” project.

Every year, around September, the municipality adds new murals, works by artists from around the world, and organizes guided tours to discover the old and new murals and the year’s “works in progress.” To date, Rive boasts 25 murals throughout the village.
