1 monte fenera an the Nature park
The mountain, located in the Nature Park by the same name, has an unmistakable rounded shape with white walls and karst caves that boast spectacular formations of stalagmites and stalactites. Many of these caves safeguarded and hid for a long time some very precious prehistoric finds such as the remains of the Neanderthals and the Merk rhinoceros.
2 serravalle sesia
The small town of Serravalle Sesia offers some interesting sites: the Parish Church of Santa Maria di Naula, the impressive Sant’Euseo Sanctuary and the fascinating ruins of the Vintebbio Castle. We recommend you to reach the ruins of the Castle to enjoy an amazing view of the surrounding villages, the Sesia River and Monte Fenera.
3 guardabosone
Lying on the green hills between Valsessera and Valsesia, in Guardabosone you can still breathe an ancient medieval atmosphere thanks to the skillful renovation works of its medieval walls, inner courtyards, and winding streets. Do not miss the delightful museums that led Guardabosone to earn the nickname of “living museum town“.
4 borgosesia
Located just below Monte Fenera, Borgogosesia is the main economic center of Valsesia still keeps traces of its fascinating historical and artistic past, like the Parish Church of SS. Pietro and Paolo and the Sanctuary of Sant’Anna di Montrigone. The Carlo Conti Museum of Archeology and Paleontology displays some of the most interesting prehistoric finds discovered in the caves of Monte Fenera and it’s certainly worth a visit.
5 valduggia
Valduggia, a charming town, known as the birthplace of Gaudenzio Ferrari, is located close to the Nature Park of Monte Fenera and is surrounded by beautiful woods of beech and chestnut trees. Along secondary roads and trails you can admire some of the last examples of taragn, ancient farmhouses, typical in Bassa Valsesia until the last century.
6 cellio con breia
Located in an enchanting low mountain landscape with many different trails for trekking and MTB lovers, Cellio con Breia consists of beautiful villages surrounded by woods. Don’t miss the Church of S. Lorenzo with the highest bell tower in Valsesia..
7 quarona
In the small town of Quarona, which is internationally renowned for its textile production, there’s a beautiful devotional path that connects two significant churches: the Church of San Giovanni al Monte, which preserves some interesting cycles of frescoes, and the Sanctuary of “Beata Panacea al Monte”, an important figure in the history of the town.
8 civiasco
Located along the Cammino of San Carlo, Civiasco, since ancient times has been an important site for pilgrims and travellers trying to reach Varallo from Orta. You can’t miss the “Ercole Durio” Civic Museum and the beautiful town centre with some valued examples of architecture.

BY CAR
From Gattinara: take SP 70 towards Serravalle Sesia.
From Milano and Torino: rom the A4 take the A26 junction at Biandrate, direction Gravellona Toce, and exit at Romagnano S.- Ghemme. From the motorway exit, take the SP299 “Strada della Valsesia” in the direction of Varallo-Alagna.
